Anaerobic metabolism

In contrast to aerobic metabolism, anaerobic metabolism takes place without the participation of oxygen. Energy is provided by anaerobic metabolism, of which there are two types: anaerobic-alactacidic energy provision and anaerobic-lactacidic energy provision.
