Anaerobic threshold

The anaerobic threshold is a measured value of 4 mmol/l blood lactate. It is the boundary of the aerobic-anaerobic transition zone. The energy supply is increasingly glycolytic. If the intensity is now further increased, the blood lactate level continues to rise. The anaerobic threshold is also called the lactate threshold, because from this value onwards, lactate elimination can no longer keep pace with lactate production.
