Chain catcher pin

The chainring pin is a small elongated cylinder that is mounted in the chainring. The chainring is mounted with the pin at the height of the crank arm so that the chain cannot slip between the crank arm and the chainring when shifting over. This prevents the chain from getting wedged in the gap.
