Power profiling in cycling is a system for recording various maximum powers.
It is important for power profiling that there are also meaningful maximum values from all load ranges. Power profiling then combines the individual performance profiles, such as sprint, endurance, hill climb, and provides the athlete with an accurate cross-section of their performance. For this purpose, the critical power is evaluated for different time periods. Frequently used are the ranges 10 seconds, 1 minute, 5 minutes, 20 minutes and 60 minutes.
Using the values measured with a power meter, a power profiling diagram can also be created on the computer at home. In some evaluation programs there are special power profiling options for this.
