Quarq powermeters are characterised by high-quality production and materials. The measuring accuracy of +- 1.5% deviation is in the range of comparable top-of-the-range instruments.

The Quarq Powermeter's data transmission is based on the latest standards and uses ANT+ Sport technology. You no longer need an annoying cable on your bike to transfer data. This technology is also very energy-efficient and can be used with mobile devices. Another advantage of the Quarq Powermeter is that it can be combined with various bike computers, such as Garmin, O-Synce and all other ANT+-compatible bike computers.

ANT+ is a wireless 2.4 Ghz network with standardized communication between devices such as wheel and power sensors, speed sensors, cadence sensors and heart rate monitors. You could call it Bluetooth for the bike. ANT+ allows not only manufacturers and producers like Quarq to develop independent sensors and computers, but also allows athletes to build their own system according to their own needs. The simple but safe battery cover allows you to change the battery of the Quarq Powermeter yourself without any problems.

About Quarq

The first Quarq powermeter was created because the founder, Jim Meyer, wanted a powermeter for his triathlon, but couldn't find a suitable one on the market. Meanwhile Quarq offers a wide range of crank powermeters, which are characterized by a very high accuracy and a very power saving technology. As with the SRM Powermeters, the measuring technology of the Quarq Powermeter is built into the Spider. The Quarq Powermeters are characterized by a very precise and robust measurement technology. Quarq Powermeters are well proven for many years in professional sports. Due to the ANT+ transmission, the Quarq Powermeter is compatible with all common bicycle computers and fitness watches. We at XP Sport especially recommend the bike computers from Garmin and Wahoo for use as a headunit with a power meter, as both have been proven in practice for years. But also newcomers like the Lezyne bicycle computers or O-Synce bicycle computers are fully compatible with the Quarq Powermeters.

In 2005, Jim Meyer quit his job as General Manager and began training full-time for triathlon. Since there was no money for a powermeter, Jim simply decided to build a performance measurement system himself. After several hours of soldering and wiring, the first CinQo Quarq Powermeter prototype was created. One year later the Quarq company was founded in Spearfish, South Dakota. Jim became managing director and Quarq developed into a successful company for power measurement systems. Since October 2010 the US manufacturer Quarq offers its power measurement systems also in Germany.
